The rain in Fall is actually pretty consistent with around 9-10 days of rain in each of the fall months.

So whatever Fall month you are traveling to Copenhagen is is always worth having a lightweight waterproof jacket and a good quality compact travel umbrella with you.

Best Shoes for Copenhagen in Fall

But first we will turn our attention to shoes for Copenhagen in Fall.

Sneakers in my opinion are the best shoe for Copenhagen no matter what month you are there. Any Copenhagen city break involves lots of walking with Tivoli Gardens and beautiful castles to see. And it should come as no suprise that there are lots of cobble stone streets in the city which mean you will need comfortable walking shoes.

My favorite brand of sneakers for walking are Hoka and AllBirds, however you also can’t go wrong with a plain white sneaker as they go with everything. One of my favorite pairs of white sneakers is the Adidas Cloud Foam shoes.

But if it is going to be rainy during your trip you may want some waterproof sneakers such as the Ecoo Soft 7.

Ankle Boots or Sandals

Depending on the month of travel will depend on what your second shoe for Copenhagen in Fall should be. In November, a boot is the most practical choice. However in September it is still sandal season.

So what does a Copenhagen Packing List for Fall look like? For women we recommend packing:

Coat / Jacket

Again depending on what month in Fall you are traveling to Copenhagen will affect the jacket you should pack. For November we recommend a heavier weight jacket such as a puffer jacket but in September can get away with something much lighter such as a denim jacket.

Trousers and pants are a great versatile pick for Copenhagen. In October and November in particular jeans are a great pick. We just recommend picking smarter jeans such as black jeans or dark blue jeans that are more fitted or skinny jeans to be more in keeping with local European style.

However for September may want to pack some lighter trousers as well as jeans such as linen trousers.

Skirts and Dresses

Midi and Maxi dresses are perfect for Copenhagen in Fall. For November I love a sweater dress that can be paired with tights.

I personally love to embrace Fall colors so tend to pick oranges, browns and reds for Fall dresses.

The month of travel will again determine the most appropriate layers to pack and November will obviously need more layers than September. However we always recommend lots of lighter layers instead of chunky knits because they are easier to pack and layer.

We recommend having a cardigan, sweater and a hoodie for daytime sightseeing in Copenhagen.

T Shirts

T Shirts are perfect for Copenhagen in Fall. While in September you can stick with short sleeve tees but by November I would recommend having a mix of long and short sleeve tees.

Loose blouses are perfect for Copenhagen no matter what Fall month you are traveling. I particularly like them for evenings paired with a waterfall cardigan or sweater in November in particular.

PJs or Nightie, Underwear and Socks

Copenhagen can be a dazzling city in spring so be sure to pack a pair of sunglasses with good UVA protection.

The thickness is dependent on the month of travel with November requiring much thicker than September.

T Shirts and Shirts

T shirts are great for days sightseeing. In November recommend having a mix of long and short sleeves, but for early September in particular you are likely only going to need short sleeve t shirts.

And on top of t shirts you may also want to pack a button down shirt for use in more upscale restaurants such as Geranium.

A hoodie, jumper and sweater alongside the jacket are the perfect layers for 7 days in Copenhagen.
