What to wear to Hollywood Studios
What shoes should I wear to Hollywood Studios
As with any park at Walt Disney World you will be doing a lot of walking at Hollywood studios and therefore it is imperative that you have comfortable shoes with you.
Whenever I am at Disney park my shoe of choice is a sneaker. MY favorite types have a bit of glitz and this really works with the Hollywood theme of the parks.
But really any type of sneaker you feel comfortable in will do. Just please make sure you have broken them in before you go to the Parks.
Alternatively I also find Toms very comfortable for a day in the park.
Can you wear flip flops to Hollywood Studios?
Yes you can wear flip flops to Hollywood Studios it is not against a Disney dress code. However flip flops are on my what not to wear to Disney World list. That is because flip flops are not good for your feet for lots of walking.
Flip flops are on my what to wear to Animal Kingdom list because there is a ride where you may get very wet in form of the Kali River Rapids. However there are no wet rides at Hollywood Studios.
You may get squirted with water in the Muppets 3d ride but you won’t get so wet that you will need to take a change of shoes with you in the form of Flip Flops.
What to wear to Hollywood Studios for Women
Shorts
My personal favorite bottoms for HOllywood Studios are shorts. In other parks I recommend quick dry shorts however this isn’t required for Hollywood studios.
Therefore I would pick any kind of comfortable shorts.
And while I prefer shorts for ease of getting on and off rides you could if you prefer go for a dress or skirt then you can definitely do this.
T Shirt
I always prefer to wear shorts and a t shirt when I go to Disney Parks but I like to theme them to unique meet and greets at the park I am at. Please check in the FAQS for a full list of unique meet and greets.
However my favorite t-shirt theme for Hollywood Studios has got to be Star Wars thanks to the opening of Galaxy’s Edge.

Alternatively if you are traveling with younger children you may want to theme your outfit more to ToyStory as as well as Galaxy’s Edge Hollywood Studios also have Toy Storyland.

Sunglasses
Sunglasses are a must when you are traveling to any Disney World Park but you will definitely want them at Hollywood Studios. Do not underestimate how strong the sun can be.
What Should I pack for Hollywood Studios for Men
There really isn’t much of a difference between what to wear for a man or woman at Hollywood Studios.
Again we recommend
- Shorts
- Star Wars themed t shirts or
- Toy Story T Shirt – My husband absolutely adores this Pizza Planet T shirt and is his favourite thing to wear to Toy Story land
Best Hollywood Studios Outfits for Kids
When my kids travel to Disney they always love to dress up in costumes. I especially love to have them in costumes that match the character interactions as the interactions are always better this way.
My kids favorite Hollywood Studio Outfits are usually themed to Toy Story either wearing Woody, Buzz or even Jessie or Bo Peep outfits.
However if they don’t want to wear a costume you could get a Toy Story family vacation t shirt like these ones.

If you kids are a bit older then they may prefer to theme their Hollywood Studios outfit to Star Wars instead.
There are lots of great Star Wars costumes for boys and girls such as those for Rey and Han
However if you have kids that don’t want to wear any costumes you could again get Star Wars themed vacation t shirts for the whole family.
I also recommend adding Crocs to the outfit for kids. Crocs are breathable and easy to walk in and often you can get great Disney themed Crocs for kids.
Hollywood Studios DisneyBound Ideas
Disneybounding is a way for adults to pay tribute to their favorite Disney characters as it is against the Disney dress code for adults to wear costumes. Usually the Disneybound ideas will use color schemes and silhouettes. Some of the best Disneybound ideas for Hollywood Studios are
Rey Disney Bound Ideas
It is really easy to throw together a Rey Disneybound look with creams and brown color palette and floaty trousers with a more structured top.

What are the best ears for Hollywood Studios?
Ears to me are an essential for any Disney World Packing List. I love to theme my ears to the specific park I am visiting.

There are many character meet and greets at Hollywood Studios but the most unique ones are
- Star Wars characters i.e. Kylo Ren, Rey, Chewbacca etc. at Galaxy’s Edge
- Toy Story Characters i.e. Woody and Buzz in Toy Story Lad.
- Sulley at Walt Disney World Presents
- Disney Junior Characters like Vamparina, Doc McSTuffins at Animation Courtyard
- Olaf at Celebrity Spotlight
- Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Red Carpet Dreams
You can also meet classic characters like Pluto, Goofy, Donald and Daisy Duck.
Therefore if you want to theme your outfit for Hollywood Studios I would recommend theming it to Star Wars or Monsters Inc.
